| | Vista RC1 will not charge battery Hi there, I have a Compaq N600c laptop with a new battery. With Windows XP and a Vista beta, the battery would charge, and would last 3 to 4 hours without being plugged in. Now that I have installed RC1 the battery stays at 5%, and charging status switches between charging and not charging. The problems started with RC1 - any ideas on how to fix this? Are there any hidden charging settings? Or any registry settings that would affect this? I am going to re-install the beta or XP (which ever CD I find first) Thanks |

| | RE: Vista RC1 will not charge battery Jeff, did you ever figure anything out about this? I just installed RC1 Build 5600 on my Toshiba Satellite. It said it was plugged in to AC, but apparently was running on battery. Now, the laptop is dead and I cannot charge it or run it on AC. Any ideas? Thanks. | | RE: Vista RC1 will not charge battery No, I never figured this out. My laptop was acting the same as yours - it would just run off of AC, and not the battery. I could be in the same situation as you when I go to use it next. I am going to get a copy of the full release next week and will try installing that and see if it was just a bug in RC1...
