Bluetooth dongle not working

Hi, I'd be really grateful for any help...

I have an HP laptop with Windows Vista and I have just bought a
bluetooth dongle (Kitdata ultra mini) to transfer files with my phone
(Sony Ericsson K850i).

I installed it all with the disk that came with it and managed to send
a file from my laptop to my phone. But when I try to send from my phone
to my laptop it won't work. My phone has a message saying "Bluetooth
connection failed" and then "Check Bluetooth settings on other device:
Bluetooth on, Device visable, Device in range."

As far as I know, the bluetooth on my laptop fits _is_ on, visable and
in range. I cannot access Bluetooth devices via control panel because
after I installed the drivers that came with the dongle, this
disappeared. However, Bluetooth _does_ show up in the device manager.

Any suggestions please?

Thank you very much.

Re: Bluetooth dongle not working

You need software and drivers for your specific phone. Sony Erickson
probably has them on their site or they could be on a CD that came with your
phone. Also if you are trying to access the dongle through a hub try
plugging directly in a USB port. I had problems with the one I got until I
plugged it directly in the computer and for those ready to pounce the hub is
powered.
