| | Drivers for Game controller not loading I posted another question about this earlier, but I think my choice of wording may have scared people off. Anyhow, I have an older Gravis Eliminator Aftershock game controller that has software which allows it to act like a Mouse, Keyboard, a Direct X game controller or any combination of the above. It works great in XP Pro, but i can't get the drivers to load properly in Vista RC1. The controller is USB, and it is showing up just fine in the Game Controllers, but without the additional drivers loading properly, it is pretty much useless in Vista because most, if not all, of the games I play do NOT support game controllers: only Mouse and Keyboard. I have tried running the installer as "Administrator" and I have tried disabling the driver signing check by pressing F8 at boot. The software appears to install just fine, then it says something like "Updating your Devices" and then asks me to re-boot, which I do. After re-booting, it still is not loading the propper drivers to allow the controllers various buttons and axises to be programed as Mouse/Keyboard. I have E-Mailed Gravis, and still no response. I don't think they plan on updating the software for Vista. Am I missing something? Is there any other way that I might be able to get this to work? I really do enjoy gaming, but I just can't get used to Mouse/Keyboard controlls and though this controller is old, it can have up to 36 keys AND full Mouse control programed into it. Plus, I just so happened to have 3 more BRAND NEW ones, still in boxes that I bought from Ebay to have as spares! Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thank You... |
