| | Re: hard drives showing in "safely remove hardware" Some motherboard/drive controller drivers mark the drives as hot-swappable, so if you have recently updated or upgraded motherboard/drive controller drivers roll back to the last version of the driver in question. No more icon for my hard drive or 2 dvd-rom drives. Richard - Thanks for your input. > > > -- > moondogg If you have the drives set up as ACHI in the bios they will show up as removable drives. If the drives are set up in the bios as standard SATA drives they do not. -- Richard Urban Microsoft MVP Windows Desktop Experience I did this once before and was able to get rid of it, just couldn't remember how. I tried to roll back, but the option is grayed out. I will check the bios settings, hopefully that will do it. Thanks, i will let you know. Last edited by moondogg; 09-24-2009 at 08:42 PM.. I am now at a loss. |
