NVIDIA GeForce FX GO 5700 and AERO

Hi,

i have an acer aspire 1712 with NVIDIA GeForce FX GO 5700 and the default
driver version installed is from 5.6.7.0 from 2004, in RC1 i get it run
with an update but from now what's happend ?
The packages form latest NVIDIA Beta drivers, said on installation that "
were no devices found in this package" .

hope that will be soon an update

Re: NVIDIA GeForce FX GO 5700 and AERO

The latest Vista Beta drivers only support RC2 and later. Sorry, I don't
have a link to the NVIDIA RC1 driver download page since I have forgotten
the release number.

The FX Go cards are not Aero Compatible really. as far as I know, nVidia
doesn't offer the drivers for the notebook video cards yet. You are kinda
stuck with the Vista drivers that come with the system.

Re: NVIDIA GeForce FX GO 5700 and AERO

Go to http://www.LaptopVideo2go.com and get 96.85 Vista driver and the
patched .inf file. You may have to get the patched .inf file from 96.33.
When I last looked the patched .ini fro 96.85 had not been posted. Run the
..EXE file to expand the compressed contents. Copy the .inf file into the
expanded directory. Run the Setup.exe. After rebooting go to Windows Color
and Appearance and select Windows Aero and everything works great. Watch out
for windows update it will try to convert the NVIDIA driver back to a very
old 5.8.8.0 6/9/2004 driver that is not much better than generic VGA.

Re: NVIDIA GeForce FX GO 5700 and AERO

Hey Bill, tried your recommendation and still get the same message.. It's a
no go for me.. Toshiba Satellite P20. One thing I don't get from your reply
is you stated to get the .inf file from Version 96.33.. yet that driver won't
install either.. same problem? I would think 96.33 would install if the .inf
file has been patched? Any other thoughts?

Re: NVIDIA GeForce FX GO 5700 and AERO

I too am trying to upgrade my geforce FX go 5700 driver on my toshiba
satellite, and i'm getting the same msg as the other chap 'n cant find
any suitable drivers' when i run the software. Also, where do i
download this modified inf. file, as there are no specific links, and
the inf file already seems to be in the 96.85 folder.
Any help would be muchos appreciated.

Thanks,

Anton

Sweet, glorious specs of the 11.6 millimeter device (that's frickin'
thin, by the way) include a 3.5-inch 480 x 320 touchscreen display with
multi-touch support and a proximity sensor to turn off the screen when
it's close to your face
