| | MS fingerprint driver causes error in Vista I use the MS fingerprint reader on a Windows Vista 32 bit system and have installed the latest digitalpersona 2.0 driver from MS hardware site. When closing the internet explorer browser windows I get an error message: "Internet explorer has stopped working a must now close" it then searches for a solution and restarts internet explorer. It is an annoyance rather than a serious flaw because the message only appears when the browser is already closed down manually (clicking the close button) and only when a web page with a drop-down menu has been visited. Stopping the dpagent.exe process (fingerprint driver) completely resolves the problem. Does Microsoft/digitalpersona intend to correct this? |

| | Re: MS fingerprint driver causes error in Vista I see the same thing, but didn't realize until now that this started appearing after installing the fingerprint software. I mentioned this issue in the IE newsgroup, not knowing what caused it. Hope they come up with a solution soon. My Reliability Monitor index went from 10 down to 3.5 in 3 weeks just because of this single issue. |

| | RE: MS fingerprint driver causes error in Vista I forgot one thing, there seems to be a correlation between the IE crash and sites that use SSL 2.0 (instead of 3.0). |

| | Re: MS fingerprint driver causes error in Vista Ahhh... same problem here. Was wondering why IE7 kept on closing down then rebooting itself. I like my fingerprint reader and the problem is just an annoyance, but still, you,d think they would have that worked out. Thanks for pointing it out. Dan |

| | MS fingerprint reader under Vista Removed MS fingerprint reader and reintalled, but same error happening again RE: IE7 rebooting itself automatically. One thing that is gone is the pesky fingerprint icon that followed me clicks on top of Vista screen gadgets. Removing and reinstalling seems to have fixed the prob. Dan Sudbury, Canada |
