| | Static Driver installation I had developed a static driver for Windows XP which will get loaded during OS boot up. This driver does not require any physical hardware and it gets loaded due to manual registry entries created under HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root. Now in Windows Vista it doesn’t allow me to create registry entry manually under the enum \Root key due to rights restriction. Finally I was able to create registry entry thru a kernel code. After system reboot I can see device enumeration I provide the path to my static driver it loads the driver but in the final screen it says “Installation of the device forbidden by System policy ”. Is there any way to make driver load during boot time without even a device in Vista?? Kindly help me out in this. |
