    GeFoce 8800GTS question

    Hi,

I received the above mention card for Christmas, and it works great in XP Pro,
but when I try to boot into the RC1 installation of Vista, I can see a very
quick bluescreen, but I can not even see what is the error message, and then the
    computer reboot

Is there anyway to make this card work with Vista RC1, I would very much like to
try it in Vista as well ( a little bit ahead of release;-) )

    --
    Thank you in Advance

    Merci a l'Avance

nVidia's drivers don't currently support the 8800 in Windows Vista (any
    build) at the moment.

No. The built-in driver came from nVidia.

He should at least get the VGA driver to install. I have the 8800 GTS and
it runs with the VGA driver (RC2). He shouldn't be getting a BSOD.

Are you sure the card is seated all the way into the slot? Did you remove
the previous card drivers before booting into Vista? I had a Quadro
installed previously, I removed the drivers, ran DC Cleaner, installed the
8800 GTS and then boot back into Vista without problem.

I got an Asus en8800gts and was having so much trouble with my machine
simply booting and freezing under Win XP, I booted (dual boot system) into
Vista64 to see what it would do? Surprise, it seems to have ditched the ATI
800xl drivers cleanly, and booted successfully with the vista64 rc2 default
driver. Currently running at 1280 res. The screens a Dell 2407, native res
1920 x 1200, so can't wait for the proper Nvidia drivers release .

    GeForce 8800 Vista beta drivers

There are beta drivers at Guru3d for both x86 and x64 vista, for gforce 8800
    cards.

I'm running them with Vista64 rc2 for my ASUS ne8800gts card as of 6 hrs
    ago.

They've survived the 3dmark2006 tests on mine.

    Main Test Results

    3DMark Score 7721 3DMarks
    SM 2.0 Score 3567 Marks
    SM 3.0 Score 3626 Marks
    CPU Score 1715 Marks

Recommend reading the release notes. I don't think they help SLI owners.
