| | NVIDIA GeFource 6800 GS and ReadyBoost I am using ForceWare version 96.85 and the NVIDIA control Panel version 1.3.9.1. I have dual monitors connected to an ASUS motherboard with AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processsor 4400. I am using Vista x64. When I use ReadyBoost, I get a blue screen at startup. Vista tells me that this is a driver issue: http://support.microsoft.com/Default.aspx?kbid=293078 Also, I have extremely high Interrupts being generated (it consumes 70% of one of the cores on the CPU). I believe this also comes from the graphics card. How do I disable hardware acceleration using the NVIDIA control panel? Other suggestions to get better stability? I can't have 70% CPU utilization on 1 core all of the time, it slows down my PC too much. -- Bob |

| | Re: NVIDIA GeFource 6800 GS and ReadyBoost How is your performance with only one monitor? Are the 2 montors in clone mode or extended desktop mode? I ask since supporting 2 different resolution monitos over differend interfaces could completly consume the graphic processor of your graphics card especially if you are using HD resolutions. | | Re: NVIDIA GeFource 6800 GS and ReadyBoost I've never used just one monitor so I can't say about performance. They are in extended desktop mode. In the NVIDIA Control Panel they call it Configured independently from each other (Dualview). They are both standard analog monitors. I have them set at 1024x768 resolution, 32 bit color and 75Hz refresh rate on both monitors. -- Bob "JW" wrote: > How is your performance with only one monitor? > Are the 2 montors in clone mode or extended desktop mode? | | Re: NVIDIA GeFource 6800 GS and ReadyBoost I was suggesting that you try using one at a time and see what effect it has on performance "bobneedshelp" Although the referenced knowledge base article talks about a display driver causing a driver loop problem it may actually be the USB driver being used for Ready Boost that is looping <bobneedshelp@newsgroups.nospam> wrote in message news:B42A5401-3A81-4432-8A8C-A80F5061ABA3@microsoft.com... > I've never used just one monitor so I can't say about performance. > > They are in extended desktop mode. | | Re: NVIDIA GeFource 6800 GS and ReadyBoost I tried just one monitor. I couldn't see any difference in performance. The CPU utilization was approximately the same as always. I did get the same type of startup error (as I did with the ReadyBoost attached) when I switched back from one monitor to two and rebooted. I guess the ReadyBoost device just causes the error to be repeatable. -- Bob "JW" wrote: > I was suggesting that you try using one at a time and see what effect it has > on performance > "bobneedshelp" > > Although the referenced knowledge base article talks about a display driver > causing a driver loop problem it may actually be the USB driver being used > for Ready Boost that is looping > > <bobneedshelp@newsgroups.nospam> wrote in message > news:B42A5401-3A81-4432-8A8C-A80F5061ABA3@microsoft.com... > > I've never used just one monitor so I can't say about performance. > > > > They are in extended desktop mode. | | Re: NVIDIA GeFource 6800 GS and ReadyBoost Then I don't think that the Video drivers have anythning to do with what is a USB2 drivers problem for ReadyBoost on your system But the only KB article so far only talkes about how the errore message can be caused by video drivers so is misleading in that it does not discuss what other drivers can cause the problem.
