Microphone

Hi,

My problem is that I can't record anything !...

Front or back panel : nothing works.

My computer is a Packard Bell IMEDIA 9600 (OS Vista, of course).

Did anyone get an issue ?

Thanks in advance,
Stephane

RE: Microphone

Packard Bell still makes PCs? My first PC was a Packard Bell at 8Mhz

My guess is a driver issue. My sound problems are with Ventrillo and
Teamspeak needing to run in Administrator mode.

Did you buy this pc with Vista installed? I'd call the vendor.

Look into the control panel and find out who made your sound hardware and go
to that company for the drivers and not Packard.

RE: Microphone

Hi Phil,

Thanks for your answer.

Yes, Packard Bell seems still making PCs. Memories, memories...

I think you are right relating to athe issue... My audio card was
manufactured by ASUSTek.

I tried to contact them but I didn't get any answer (yet...).

To say the truth, I loose a lot of time getting information about drivers
compatible with Vista. As a matter of fact, I'm in charge of creating a
training about this OS and have a lot of troubles getting solutions from the
one and the others. Sound is not the least problem I got...

Sorry. My english is not so good... I am French, leaving in South of France.
And it is not always so easy to try explaining how things don't work.

Il you have any more idea or if you need some details, please, don't
hesitate to write.

Regards,
Stéphane

RE: Microphone

Many vendors are still finishing off the drivers for Vista at the moment and
audio drivers are no exception.

There are about 19,000 drivers shipping on the Vista DVD at the end of
January 2007 and the rest will come online via Windows Update.

When you install Vista it will check there and download any that you need
that are not on the DVD.
