    SoundBlaster Audigy

For a while there Creative was doing pretty good releasing driver updates
for the audigy serives on Windows Vista (32/64). I just went to their
website and a driver search pulled up no results for the audigy all of the
sudden, when they previously at least had the (usless) october build for a
late beta 2 (or was it RC1?). At any rate, any one hear that Creative was
pulling support for the audigy in vista? That would be pretty sad to hear,
and not jive with what I just read on their website.

I have heard nothing contrary to the official word. Check into their
    forums.

I think they pulled the beta drivers from their site because they expire
tomorrow (01/12/07). Hopefully, they'll have some kind of replacement up
today (I'm not holding my breath, though).

That makes sense, I didn't realize tomorrow was the EXP date... I thought we
had a bit longer. Well, hopefully we'll see something that's compatible with
RTM (and works properly, but that's too much to hope for from Creative).

Just in the nick of time...

Currently my Audigy 4 card is disabled and I'm using onbaord audio. Even
with these drivers, things like EAX won't work properly under Vista and it
is likely that they never will.

Great Link. Although I have a beta driver now, I found a newer one that
doesn't expire at all that I can see.

Tell me about it, here's hoping I don't randomly lose channels like I did
    with the last driver.

I have just installed the new drivers and they seem to work alright.
One thing though the volume seems quieter (all the settings are the same as
    before)?

What kind of soundcard/platform are you running? On my system it failed to
pass the tone test, and when I decided to set it for 5.1 anyway (what the
heck right?) the system restarted it's self rather ungracefully
