Finally Intel drivers are the one to blame......

Hi,

I reinstalled Windows XP on the same laptop after trying to find any
solution for my graphics card.

For my surprise, i had the same issue with windows xp (screen stretches
virtically) after installing the latest intel graphics drivers for my
laptop.

However, when i downgraded to previous version, i got back my 1024x768
resolution ....
without any issues.

I guess the latest intel drivers had a bug, which prevent from displaying
1024x768 ... hope Intel corrects that , and re-releases new version..

Until, then no vista for me... buy

Regards,
Praveen

I guess their is some confusing here... sorry thats my mistake...

My laptop graphics card is

Intel(R) 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller (Microsoft Corporation -
XDDM) and 64MB Shared Memory

and not 915 series.... as mentioned earlier..
