Vista - Driver "Sonic Solutions DLA" blocked due to compatibility issues

Every time I start up my computer, I get a message like this:

I have tried checking for solutions on the Microsoft website, but to no avail. Why am I getting this message, and is there anything I can do about it? If there is nothing I can do about it, how do I go about uninstalling the device?

I would appreciate any help I can receive.

I fail to understand why people don't believe when they get a warning such
as you are seeing. Sonic DLA is NOT compatible with Vista. Use it at your
discretion. If it was part of a Roxio installation, Roxio also is not fully
compatible.

I fail to understand how MVP's run all interference between Microsoft and
the real world, people have put forth good money on this "wonderful" OS they
have released, and some of us might yearn for the days when we could contact
Microsoft employees through the phone and via CompuServe... days long gone.

It might be helpful for the OP to read this from Roxio
http://kb.roxio.com/content/kb/Creator/000131CR and this from Microsoft
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=929427 where it seems to say that an
update on 1/30 caused this driver to be declared "broken." I haven't tested
all functions, but Easy Media or Whatever 9 seems to work for me and my
Vista installation is not rendered "unstable" by this vicious driver. There
are lots of other ways to make Vista unstable, such as uninstalling trial
versions of Microsoft's own Office 2007... but that's another "department."

Yes it does anger us "unwashed masses" that these huge s/w companies
couldn't tie up a few things, like Hewlitt-Packard drivers for printers less
than a year old, Nvidia, and their awful video drivers, prior to the magic
release date. Roxio implies that this message about the bad driver wouldn't
appear were it not for a patch referenced in the KB article to make a list
of other programs more compatible. Sheesh.

Hey! If DLA does not have drivers that are Vista compatible - HOW IS THAT
MICROSOFT'S FAULT?

January 30 put the onus back on Roxio. The ever shifting sands.
Interesting time to put the onus back on Roxio, isn't it?

I honestly don't know, I never used "drive letter access" (which enables
drag 'n drop functionality to CD/DVD drives). Roxio says they are working
on it, just as HP and Nvidia are saying they are working on their problems.
It really does seem to me that had this OS been a bit more mature and tested
thoroughly with real world apps, at least some of this churning between
customer/vendor would not have to take place. Can it really be that the
enormous Hewlitt-Packard - or Nvidia - didn't know what to provide in
drivers upon the vaunted release date of Vista?

I have used Roxio for the past 8 years. I am still waiting for a version
that is 100% compatible with Vista, including Drag-To-Disk.

Program Compatibility Assistant declares is blocked. Why not just include
the file name of the driver so we can find it?

OK. I misread your question. You want Vista to tell you exactly which driver
is the culprit, right.

That may not happen if there are multiple files (likely) that are
incompatible.

You can always contact/call the manufacturer and hound them.
