Re: new nVidea forceware from 3d guru sitre

If it is the 100.64 drivers then those are beta release, so perhaps you
should have waited. Although I loaded them myself this evening and all was
OK.
You could try going to device manager update the video driver and force it
to select the drivers from the "....Nvidia\winvista\100.64" folder that
would have been created during the installation of the new drivers. That
worked for me on an earlier release.

all the best

Re: new nVidea forceware from 3d guru sitre

Those drivers are not beta, they were released from nvidia on the 13th of
FEB. I had the same problem thow. I did this to install those drivers
Uninstalled the previous version of nvidia drivers
opened up device manager uninstalled from there
Rebooted
after reboot let windows find the defualt driver,
then open device manager again
Right click on device
Update driver manulay
choose the advance options
go to the nvidia folder and find the driver
then install

I dont know why the driver isnt digtial sighned, kinda funny that nvidia
would release a driver that is not digital sighned and that doesnt work
threw there install package but thats how I got it to work.

Re: new nVidea forceware from 3d guru sitre

I didnt have a diffrence in my Video scrore but I did notice a diffrence in
my FPS rate in games, I am still expermenting with it thow, I am impressed
that I never reached higher FPS with windows vista rather than windows XP
but I still get wierd video lagg. All in all I say so far from what I have
seen this new driver for niviida is an improvement from there last one.

Re: new nVidea forceware from 3d guru sitre

The drivers released by Nvidia on 13 Feb 07 ARE beta at release 100.64 and
that is probably why they are not signed yet. The latest release on the
Nvidia site are 97.46.

But that doesn't alter the fact they worked fine on my system.

Re: new nVidea forceware from 3d guru sitre

I believe that NVIDIA realizes getting the 97.46 drivers digitally signed
was possibly not a good idea since none of the drivers since the 96.85 Vista
drivers are as fully funtionality in Vista becasue NVIDIA is trying to now
revising the drivers to use all of the graphics performance and image
quality improvements that are built into Vista which they were not able to
incorporate prior to RTM.. By submitting the drivers to MS for signing they
possibility have the problem of MS providing them with WinUpdate to Vista
and the users all of a sudden have less driver funcionality.
In any case I certainly feel that NVIDIA should release more information
possibly using the Quality Assurance page about their driver and decoder
plans for Vista. And ATI should do the same at their Website since the
current driver issues certainly have confused us poor users.

I know that and that is exactly why I suggested that Nvidia post more
information there.
