Check on the printer manufacturer's web site to see if they have put out
Vista drivers, it not yet, then send an inquiry to their tech support to ask
if they will be. Some legacy hardware will not be supported, which means
you have to get a new hardware device or dual boot with XP or other such
solutions.

Rock,
Your answer is correct but.... There is an alternative and if the printer
is a good one (not a $49 printer), he could try purchasing a print server
with the correct interface (USB or parallel) and make it a network printer.
Instructions come with the print server but basically, you make a new port
type using the print server software or use Vista's Local TCP/IP type port.
Worked for me but I have some pricey hardware for printing and plotting that
I wanted to keep. A "good" print server like an HP will cost around $100
but others can be had for half that price and may work as well.

Good suggestion Bob, I've not used or set up print servers so it didn't
occur to me. I have one legacy NEC laser printer with no Vista driver
support. I may look into that, but then it's old, though good; I might
just get a new printer.

Rock,
Nuthin to the SETUP (that's fer Chad....)
If you have a CompUSA nearby, pick up their branded model - it works nicely
and inexpensive. Just like setting up a small router and they're accessible
via the browser. If you have a good printer - even though it's old - well
worth it. I have an old HP4 Laserjet that is like brand new and an HP
designjet plotter that I use. Amazingly *both* were recognized by Vista but
I still made the HP4 a network printer so I can access from any system.

Thank you BobS for your advice. But this printer server work with all in
one printer?
I mean to say work with my scanner and fax?

Gil,
Look at the documentation and see if that printer/fax/scanner can be
"networked". Typically, a scanner cannot be network because it uses a Twain
driver but... I do not know about an all-in-one model. What is the make and
model number and I'll look it up.
