Re: vista 4GB problem

Betcha you have 32 bit Vista. Nothing is wrong, that is simply the way
32 bit systems work in conjunction with motherboards. The 'wall' is
somewhere between 3G and 3.4G typically.

This has been discussed many times in the Vista newsgroups. It's best to do
a search through the posts for answers before asking a new question.

That said, what you are seeing is normal in the x86 versions of Vista. All
4GB is used by the system, but some is reserved and used by hardware, so the
user doesn't see it. Exactly how much you see in Vista depends on the
particular hardware. Nothing you can do about it except go to the x64
version if you have a 64bit processor. But that has it's own issues with
fewer hardware drivers available.

Re: vista 4GB problem

you should be able to see the entire 4gb if you enable the memory hole
option in the bios. The system will still reserve some memory for
hardware but you should be able to see it in vista x32.
