usb flash drive and readyboost

my usb flash drive seems to not to be recognised by windows vista ultimate
for some reason and for some reason my boot up from the bios seems to take
ages

just realised that autoplay for the device is not running as it is suppose
to do, how do i get this back up as it says in cmd prompt, when i type this
in "net start shellhwdetection" that the service has already been started

just realised that autoplay is not running on the device, i think it may
have something to do with the fact that windows explorer crashed earlier
