windows vista upgrade vs home preuim vs home basic

has anyone purchased the upgrade version only and hadnt any problems playing
there games i did a clean install with the full version cause it said so and
my games either stalled or wont work, has anyone with the upgrade had any
problems with there games???
or is there any differance like with the home basic???

I got a few games to work and test vista with but I have games that just
wont load. I think it is an installer problem. Halo and quake4 work

I don't play much games, but you may want to try one of these 1) right click
the install program (if applicable), and chose "run as administrator", or 2)
do same right click on game icon, choose properties, and click on
"compatibility" tab. Choose your desired OS (one where you know it ran
previously), and click on the radio button associated with the "old" OS.
Click OK or apply a few times, and re-start.
