Vista - Vista and memory cards, do they work ?

Hi,

This is really an annoying problem and has happend 4 times now under Vista
(2 under RC2 and 2 on the final). I have a Smart Media card for my digtal
camera and 2 different USB 1.0 card readers.

Well, Vista did it again, I went out today took about 40 pictures put them
in the card reader, windows sees the card, pulls it up, shows thumbnails of
1/2 the pictures, and then explorer crashes (after trying to do anything
with the pictures, open, copy, etc), from that point there is nothing I can
do with the card unless I reboot the machine. After a shut down and restart,
the card is damaged, I lost all the pictures (the camera wont even see them
any more). I have to format the card to be able to use it any more.

This problem NEVER happend under Windows XP. It's been over 100 pictures
that I have lost because of Vista.

Any clue ?
