Vista - Vista won't recognise Windows Mobile PDA (O2 XDA)

I am running Windows Vista 64 bit Ultimate.
I have an O2 XDA PDA with Windows Mobile 2003 2nd edition. Version 4.1.1008
(Build 14235.2.0.0)

On another PC that runs XP I use active sync version 4.6 to sync Microsoft
Office inc. Outlook/emails - Word doc.s etc with no trouble.

On the PC using Using Vista, Vista wont even recognise the PDA at all.

Is Windows Moblle 2003 2nd edition supposed to work with Vista?

In addition to my 1st post, if I look in My computer I can see the the Device
and access the folders and files on it, however in the "active sync" the
device is not seen at all - hence not being able to set up the sync,
