Problems Burning with a Pioneer DBR 108 Writer

Since Upgrading to Vista Home ultimate ed. I have not been able to burn dvds.
I have updated the firmware on the writer but with no effect. Device manager
thinks its a CD Rom drive not a DVD burner. I have tried various progs ie.
Nero, but the drive is not shown.

Has anyone else had this problem or point me in ther right direction

Thanks
