| | Recommend wired network adapter (NIC) I'm finally looking at installing Vista at my office. However, I have noticed that the network adapters (NIC) that I use do not (and may not) have Vista drivers for them. What is a good brand of network adapters (NIC) that are XP / Vista compatible? |

| | Re: Recommend wired network adapter (NIC) Which adapters do you have now, they will probably work. Run the Vista upgrade advisor check and you'll get a report on your hardware and software. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/pro...deadvisor.mspx "smlunatick" <yveslec@gmail.com> wrote in message news:1173819537.393029.75730@n76g2000hsh.googlegroups.com... | I'm finally looking at installing Vista at my office. | | Re: Recommend wired network adapter (NIC) I've used Linksys NIC's with no issues. Although you can run the Vista Advisor to see if a driver is built in with Vista. Some NIC's don't have drivers with Vista, and no drivers available. But, most new Linksys and Dlink have drivers. -- Dustin Harper dharper@vistarip.com http://www.vistarip.com -- "smlunatick" <yveslec@gmail.com> wrote in message news:1173819537.393029.75730@n76g2000hsh.googlegroups.com... > I'm finally looking at installing Vista at my office. You'll find it in many of the $5 PCI NICs and you'll be hard pressed to find an OS that doesn't support it out of the box except for DOS of course. -- Conor Light travels faster than sound. It's both PCI and utterly Plug and Play. The same applies to the Intel PRO/100 (and older PRO/1000) series NICs (and built-in Intel-branded *wired* Ethernet controllers in various Intel-chipset motherboards). Christopher L. Estep |
