FYI: New Realtek drivers

came out on the 12th (yesterday to me). I put them in (wasn't getting sound
out the back port) and it worked (still got pop and crackle, but not nearly
as much...mostly on disc activity)...but then the sound went away....haven't
rebooted yet from it, but there ya go.

Re: New Realtek drivers

Where did you get them? What are the last 4 digits of the number? What is
the date on them?
Windows Update had a copy of drivers, but they were from May 2005, and were
5058 or something...the beta drivers on RealTek's site are 6062 and are from
this month..

Just an FYI....

p.s. If you have newer ones, give us the link!!!! The noise/stuttering is
driving me CRAZY!!!!

Re: New Realtek drivers

Ok, tried the new drivers....so far, it's just fine on an idle system
playing an mp3 in WMP. Upon loading Photoshop and Outlook XPress at the
same time, I got some stuttering of the sound until OXP finished
loading...so it still suffers under hard drive activity...but I'm not
getting pops and stutters on their own so far...halfway thru the mp3 and
just fine.
