Vista - HP Pavilion DV1688US has no audio

Hello,
I need help getting drivers for my HP Pavilion DV1688US laptop. I have
seen an exclamation mark on the card itself in device manager but can't seem
to get it working. Funny thing is that when I go to safe mode I can uninstall
and install with no errors at all. I was not able to use the XP drivers for
the card, it gave me an error that XP SP2 was not detected. Can someone help
me out with this?

1. It is the responsibility of the manufacturer of the hardware to develop
software products (drivers) that are compatible with Microsoft's operating
systems and then to provide Microsoft with these drivers so that they can be
included in the driver library of the operating system. This proceedure has
not changed since Windows was begat. Microsoft does not write hardware
specific drivers. Contact the manufacturer of the particular piece of
hardware in question and ask them why they refuse to support you, their
valued, paying customer.
