Vista - ATI Technologies Inc. driver update for ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9000 (Microsoft Corporation - XDDM)

Hello all,

can some give some tips on, why doesn't this driver display my standard
resolution of 1280*800 in a
HP/Compaq nx7010 15.4" LCD in the above card
(PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4C66&SUBSYS_08600E11&REV_01). It seems that only has the
resolutions of a standard CRT. I not familiar
with driver devolopment but im willing to try the task because i have 2
notebooks of mine with an M9(4C66) and a
M9+(4C56) and finally a Presário X1105EA from a friend. Will i be able with
MS WDKit and similiars to modify the
driver...any tips and directions or more simple ideias will be much
apreciated, since HP or ATI do not support this
device or notebboks with MS Vista OS.
*By the way, the driver displays normaly on 2nd VGA Output and nothing to
report on Vista OS or 3D entertainment
software.

I am having the same problem. It was a known issue with the catalyst 7.0
drivers which they allegedly fixed in 7.1. However, I have the same problem
in 7.2. I filed a feedback on their website and am waiting for 7.3. I
suggest you do too. If they get enough complainsts maybe they will fix it
(quicker).

In the mean time I have unistalled the ATI drivers. The MS drivers work
fine (although annoyingly they do not let me choose my external display as
the primary monitor).
