| | USB Scanner install (Cannot copy files) I am attempting to install a Visioneer onetouch USB scanner on Vista Ultimate. It recognizes the scanner and finds a driver on Windows Update. The install fails. I am well aware that I should wait for the vendor to release a Vista driver...... ![]() My concern is that, when the driver install runs (even from Windows Update), it fails saying that it cannot copy files. It then pops up a box saying that Empire of Ages II is not compatible (I don't have this game on my computer. In fact, I have not loaded any games yet). There are no other messages. The event log also gives no additional info. I am running as administrator, with UAC turned off. This is a clean install of Vista Ultimate. I diabled Anti Virus software first. Visioneer has several utilities that are supposed clean the registry, etc prior to trying a re-install. I have run these and get the same message. Jim |
