Keyboard does not work! Please help!

Right now, I'm using the On-Screen Keyboard so I'll make things short.

1. Top keys (Sleep, internet, mail, etc.) work fine.
2. The rest don't work.
3. It's not a connection problem, I've checked.
4. Reboot fails to fix the problem.
5. Windows Vista 32-bit Home Premium.
6. Mouse works fine.
7. Keyboard's Num Lock LED is on.
8. LED status doesn't change via keyboard nor On-Screen Keyboard
9. Was fine until sudden crash, BlueScreen, self-rebooted.

PLEASE help!

Thanks,
Jack

Re: Keyboard does not work! Please help!

sounds like a driver problem...go download the latest driver from your key
board brand site on the net.

Does the keyboard work to get into the BIOS settings? If not, it's dead.

Re: Keyboard does not work! Please help!

My computer says that I have the latest keyboard driver installed.

What is BIOS? Something about input/output systems? Sorry if that was kind
of "newbish"...

Most computers print a screen during bootup that asks you to hit the
DEL (delete) key to enter the BIOS setup facility. You really should
know and understand at least the basic functions that your computer's
BIOS does for you. Not everything, mind you, but usually the BIOS
setup will separate basic functions from advanced functions -- and
even I don't mess with the advanced settings, even after years of
practice.

Thank you all for your replies! I really appreciate it. Anyway, I got so
frustrated with this that I decided to reformat my entire computer. Now it
works! I don't know what was wrong, but all I know is that the keyboard
wouldn't function correctly after a sudden crash and reboot, and the mouse
would still work. Again, thank you all for your replies.

Thanks,
Jack
