| | USB Ports not working properly I have upgraded HP Pavilion a1129n and now some of my USB ports don't work, and the ones that work doesn't pick up usb 2.0 for removable USB flashdrives, I have reblasted my harddrive many times, still nothing. I have also noticed that my Hard drive of 200GB has been reduced to 186GB, Is there a driver for my USB ports that I need or something? and for the 14 GB i'm missing, I don't mind it right now as I am having such a headache. I have contacted HP and they weren't much use as I had done all the suggestions they mentioned. Can someone please help me. you may contact me at rdjanvier@sasktel.net |

| | RE: USB Ports not working properly Go into Device Manager, then right-click on the problem hardware, and select properties. From there, you can get vista to look on the Net for updated drivers, to upgrade from USB 1.0 to 2.0. Re the capacity of your hard drive, that is a common problem. It is caused by the way Gigs are measured. They used to be 1024MBs to a Gig. BUT, these days the standard SEEMS to have become 1000MBs to a Gig. I bought an 80G, and it is 74.5G mick "Roger Janvier" wrote: > I have upgraded HP Pavilion a1129n and now some of my USB ports don't work, > and the ones that work doesn't pick up usb 2.0 for removable USB flashdrives, > I have reblasted my harddrive many times, still nothing. Then the computer reads the drive and comes up with 190.7gig, which is 200,000,000/1024/1024. |
