Vista - Sound trashed

Running Vista Business edition, motherboard D945PSN with PentiumD 3GHz,
upgraded from XP Pro. The motherboard has built-in sound.

The previously excellent 6 speaker sound has turned to rubbish. The sound is
distorted and only 3 speakers work. Can anyone help?

Have you checked the MB manufacturer's WEBsite for Vista drivers?
Sound handling in this O/S is considerably changed from its predecessors.

You need a Vista supported sound card driver file, see:

If all the other advice fails try another sound card. I found a cheap one
that WORKS in Vista Home Premium! "Cobra" is the name
http://www.aopen.com is the manifacturers website.

Nice try but the installer says it's not the correct driver for this system
and exits.
