If you have the latest drivers, note that drivers for a lot of devices are still in beta. If that's the case for some of yours, it's possible these drivers still have issues, you'll need to contact the hardware manufacturer as they supply drivers. Also, many of the released drivers currently only support basic functions. If a device is make a call that goes beyond the basic functionality of the driver, it can cause the system to blue screen. -- Michael Solomon |

Even if it is software, it is usually software related to some device and that almost invariably leads you back to the driver. In this case, about all you can do is uninstall devices one by one. You can even do it with the graphics card if your setup has a VGA driver for your card. There usually is a generic VGA driver but not always. If the drivers are up to date, that doesn't rule them out, especially with an OS this new. You'll need to uninstall a device, you might start with peripherals, printer, scanner, etc. or something you know you recently installed and yes, that includes software. If this is quite recent, you might check System Restore to see if you have a restore point that goes back prior to when this began and try that before anything else. If not, it's trial and error until you find the problem. You can also check the event viewer under Administrative Tools for any red warnings under the system and applications tabs as any such errors might give a clue or possibly lead you to the specific device or application, especially if you see the error repeated many times. -- Michael Solomon |
