Updating BIOS

Can anyone tell me how to flash your BIOS with VISTA?
Thanks, Doug

Re: Updating BIOS

The same as in XP.

FInd the relavent BIOS from your hardware creator and this should come with
WinFlash or alike which gives you step by step instructions.

I recently updated my Bios on my HP laptop and was nervous of doing so but
it worked fine.

Good luck and be careful...

Vy very very carefully following the instructions given by your motherboard
manufacturer in a precise manner. These instructions are different from one
manufacturer to another (and often between different boards from the same
company) so asking here what the rest of us do isn't really going to move
you forward very much I'm afraid.

We can help you figure out which motherboard manufacturer you need to
download updates and instructions from, if you're having trouble with that
part, but after that it's between you and them.

RE: Updating BIOS

Hi:
First of all identify your motherboard (make and model) as well as its BIOS
version.
Goto to your motherboard manufacturer web site and check for BIOS updates.
If there is a newer version then read the changelog in order to determine
whether the upgrade is necessary or not.
If you decide to upgrade check the manufacturer specific instructions for
flashing your BIOS.
Best of luck.

Flashing a BIOS has nothing to do with the OS.

Re: Updating BIOS

First you make sure that your computer case is opened, then when your
computer is least expecting it, take your clothes off and run in front of
your computer as say, "Surprise!" Consider it flashed!

I know that one will get me in trouble, but I had to do it

I see you've changed your posting name yet again, eh Scott. Still needing
to showing off your intelligence (not)?

Re: Updating BIOS

That one was for you Rock!

Intelligence? What's that mean again?

I realized that if it is just "MVP", then that could mean MVP of anything
really. It doesn't necessarily imply an affiliation with MS.

Glad to see you have relaxed your replies a bit. Thank you :-)

Now you're Tom. Gonna have to get a scorecard to keep things straight.
