Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright
    until you hear them speak.........

There are many people not having problems at with iTunes and VISTA.
It's mentioning privileges, are you set up as administrator?

What version of iTunes are you using?

I have iTunes V7.1.1.5 installed with Vista Ultimate 32bit and it's all
    working just fine here.

I installed iTunes using the administrator account, but from memory that's
all I seem to remember doing. Day to day it just runs under my normal user
account with no permission issues or anything.

This may be something to do with DRM. You might try searching the iTunes
support site for information on this message.
