Will someone please suggest a USB Wireless NIC that they've personally used
successfully with Vista? My older (cheap) Linksys model (designed for XP) is
not getting the job done.
Thank You,

Sorry, no personal experience, but according to D-Link site, DWA-130 Wireless
"N" USB adapter, and the DWL-G122 Wireless "G" Compact Adapters are available
for Vista.

Believe it or not, my old Linksys WUSB12 works great with WIndows Vista just
fine :>) Just plugged it in and Vista downloaded a compatible driver. Kudos
to Cisco for providing Vista support for this very old 11b model. (It was the
only one out of 4 USB wireless devices I have that would work with Vista. The
manufacturers of the other 3 models say they won't even bother to provide
Vista drivers.)
But - to the question. You can get a Vista Certified ZyXel G-202 USB
wireless device at Newegg for circa $25.00, but I think they are currently
out of stock. It does work fairly well, albeit I've been having issues with
my new Dell Vista machine and its hard to tell exactly where the problem
lies. Nevertheless, ZyXel has an excellent reputation for producing quality
products and supporting them - though no manufacturer is going to bring all
their old products forward to Vista. Make sure you visit the manufacturer's
web site to check for Vista compatibility.

If you get a ZyXel G-202 make sure you use the driver from the CD or their
web site. Vista will try to automatically install a driver from its driver
database, but that driver WILL cause Vista to bomb out (BSODs).

A great in-expensive USB Wireless NIC is an Encore ENUWI-G2.
Vista drivers on their website encore-usa.com
I've used this NIC on all sorts of hardware/software. I know it to work well
with Vista.
