| | Scroll Wheel Desktop Icon Size Problem Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I'm running Vista Ultimate 32-bit. You know how you can resize the desktop icons by holding down control and using the scroll wheel? I'm experiencing an issue where: 1. I leave the computer idle for at least 20 minutes or longer, until the monitor turns off. During this time I may or may not have browser or other windows open -- doesn't seem to matter. I have the power setting on High performance, so only the monitor turns off. The computer is set to never go into standby or hibernate. 2. I come back to the computer and move the mouse so the monitor comes back on. 3. At this point, if I use the scroll wheel the desktop icons begin to resize. I'm not holding down ctrl or anything, although Windows is acting as if I'm control-scrollwheeling. If I click on something else, the wheel functions normally again, and I can ctrl-wheel the icons back to the desired size. I suppose this is more of an annoyance than anything else, but I was wondering if anyone had seen or heard of this before. BTW, the mouse is a Logitech MX518, with the latest Vista drivers. I'm not sure if it's something specific to the mouse or not -- I didn't see anything mentioned at the logitech site. Thanks, SM |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Scroll Wheel Desktop Icon Size Problem I have been experiencing something similar. Everytime I select the scroll down icon on a window or dropdown box, it causes the window to shrink or maximize depending on its current state. I found this post: Andre Da Costa[ActiveWin] Posts: n/a Re: Unable to Scroll Down in Windows Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories and right-click on the Command Prompt and choose "Run as administrator". Type in: SFC /SCANNOW and press your Enter key. This should replace/repair any corrupt files in the system. I just ran it. Although it said it found there were some things it could not repair... it does seem to have helped. No guarantees though. |
