| | USB to IDE drivers I have an IBM (Lenovo) tablet PC X41. It came with XP tablet version. I recently installed Vista Home Premium on it. And now it does not recognize my external USB hard drives. It says that it is looking for an IDE to USB driver and cannot find one. The manufacturer says that drivers are only required for Win 98. A few days ago I tried to use a USB stick and it gave the same problem. Any suggestions on how I can read external storage devices on Vista? I do have 2 USB 2.0 ports on the tablet and I have tried this on both the ports. Same issue. Thanks already! |

Give this a try: Delete your C:\windows\inf\INFCACHE.1 file, which may be corrupted. You will need to edit its file permissions to grant Full Control to the Users group before you will be allowed to delete it. |
