    Failed Monitor - Display Driver update issue

    I downloaded a display driver from Intel's website, when it finished
    installing, my monitor went blank. I don't know which device I had
    specifically, as my monitor doesn't display anything!

    I was able to boot in safe mode once, where the monitor worked fine. There
    were two display drivers available(both with the same name), so I disabled
    one, and restarted. Since then, i have not been able to get into safe mode
    again - nor anything else.

    My question is: How do I get into safe mode, or system restore without
    anything but keyboard functions? At this point, I don't have any monitor
    function.

    I have a Gateway MX8711 Notebook with Windows Vista

    Did you get an OS Recovery CD or DVD with your laptop? Sounds like it's time
    to boot from it and restore your original configuration.

    If you cannot get it to work in your present circumstances, I'd suggest
    contacting Gateway support.

    known issue with the ATI drivers. Affects me too. They claimed to have
    fixed it in the 7.1 drivers but 7.3 is now out and still no joy. I'm stuck
    using the MS drivers instead.
    OmegaDrivers.net will hopefully release some good drivers soon..
