| | PnP Driver Not Found I've bought myself a Seagate 320GB External HDD (USB 2.0 - 8MB cache if relevent) which i've plugged into my computer. It's supposed to just plug and go, however the machine is throwing up a window saying "WINDOWS NEEDS TO INSTALL DRIVER SOFTWARE FOR YOUR SEAGATE EXTERNAL DRIVE". Of course, the drive didn't come supplied with a CD as Seagate said it should plug and play. Eventually it says it cannot find the drivers and throws up the following failure reason : Problem signature: Problem Event Name:PnPDriverNotFound Architecture: x86 Hardware Id: USB\VID_0BC2&PID_0503&REV_0300 OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.768.3 Locale ID: 2057 Does anyone know of a cure so I don't have to return it. Thanks in advance |

| | RE: PnP Driver Not Found First off, go to the website who manufactured your mother board. When you get there, go to downloads, etc and see if you can find a driver for USB 2.0. I've got an older Asus P4SD-LA motherboard, 2.3 GB Memory, 120GB external SimpleTech, 500GB external Seagate, and another WD 160GB external. Everytime I plug into a USB 2.0 port, my computer signifies with a sound, then the drive is recognized. My only problem is Vista recognizing my second internal drive. It shows it in Disk Manager, but I can't get it to display. That's where my music is. I'll have to get an external box and move the drive, I've had three replies about this, but nothing helps. XP Pro is a hell of a lot more convenient, but Vista is faster and has more features.
