| | Mouse does not work on Microsoft Word 2007 I have a Dell XPS M2010 laptop and am using Windows Vista. A few weeks ago, my mouse stopped working in Microsoft Word. I can't right click or scroll down using the vertical bar. The mouse works for all other applications except Microsoft Word 2007. I even switched the mouse and it still doesn't work. I re-installed Word 2007 and the mouse still did not work. Does anyone have any suggestions? |

Also see if there are any Add-Ins loaded. They could be intercepting the mouse messages. |

| Vista Business x64 | Re: Mouse does not work on Microsoft Word 2007 I found a solution at Tim Anderson’s ITWriting - Tech writing blog » Annoying Word 2007 problem: can’t select text. There are a lot of people dealing with this problem and the one the worked for me was to delete/rename the registry key below. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Data So much better!!! I hope this helps. CARTER |

| Windows 7 | Mouse does not work on Microsoft Word 2007 (Windows 7) Thanks for taking the time to post. This solved my problem too. I didn't delete the registry entry but just renamed it to "olddata" so I could turn it back on if I needed it. BTW, I had this problem with Office 2007 running Windows 7 build 7100. |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Mouse does not work on Microsoft Word 2007 This was also the fix I needed. I had no problems until after I ran "Registry Mechanic" might have been a coincidence, but thought I would mention it. |

This also fixed my problem with MS Word not able to exit cleanly. I found a solution at Tim Anderson’s ITWriting - Tech writing blog » Annoying Word 2007 problem: can’t select text.
