| | DVD Writer Pioneer DVR-111 gone from hardware list after each rebo Hi, I have a ASUS DVD-ROM and a Pioneer DVR-111 installed on the IDE BUS on my Asus Commando. Both drives are detected by the BIOS just fine and work flawlessly. But everytime I start Vista the Pioneer is gone from the Hardware list, I have to go to the Device Manager and Rightclick the DVD/CD-Rom drives and select 'scan for hardware changes' then the drives comes up. I have no idea how I can solve this but it's very very annoying. |

Print it out and read carefully. -- freddy "falc410" wrote: > Hi, > > I have a ASUS DVD-ROM and a Pioneer DVR-111 installed on the IDE BUS on my > Asus Commando. | | RE: DVD Writer Pioneer DVR-111 gone from hardware list after each Hi freddy, and thanks for the link. Sadly it didn't help me. Windows doesn't list the device under the device manager until I 'scan for recent hardware changes'. And the driver is from MS so I can't update it or install another one. The device is also not disabled and not shown with question mark, it's like invisible until I scan for those hardware changes. Weird part is, if I go to Control Panel - Hardware and start looking for Plug'n'Play Hardware it doesn't turn up, also under Computer Management the drive isn't shown as well - until I 'scan for recent hardware changes'.
