| | Drivers for sound devices May I just say, having invested heavilly in a new computer and then in purchasing Vista Premium. Why is that, with their Billions, Microsoft could not provide decent driver backup for external usb soundcards? My soundblaster audigy is now redundant having spent hours trying to resolve the problem. It looks like I now have to spend yet more to get a fully functional system. Is it no surprise that Microsoft do not allow any direct Email contact for complaints? |

| | RE: Drivers for sound devices GraemeMarshall, I'm just a simple user, but it's my understanding that hardware manufacturers are responsible for developing drivers for their own hardware. Microsoft does not do this, but will make them available where arrangements have been made between the vendors and Microsoft. If anyone has more complete information, please provide it. -- freddy "GraemeMarshall" wrote: > May I just say, having invested heavilly in a new computer and then in > purchasing Vista Premium. That is correct. MS does not create the drivers for 3rd party hardware. It's unclear, though, what exactly the OP is asking about. -- Rock [MS-MVP User/Shell] |

| | Re: Drivers for sound devices If you are referring to the Audigy 2 NX, according to Curative's site that product is no longer being supported. However, you are in luck. In the past year they came out with another USB audio device called the Creative Xmod. It works in Vista natively.
