Re: Error message display driver igfx stopped responding

Hello,

Same issue with Compaq Presario V2000 with Intel Celeron Processor
clocked to 1.4 GHZ. But I don't get the message whilst playing WOW but
durning games such as Frets on Fire and Ocular Ink. Yet My message says
something to this effect:

"The Ialmrt5 (refers to display drivers note) drivers has stopped
responding. Please save your work and reboot and you will be prompted by
a message that you can send to Microsoft."

Also 2 times did I see the blue screen of death, but I could not read
what was causing it before it rebooted my system. Is it hardware issues
or is it just software (driver) related issues? The Blue screen of death
is only recent (post reformat).

I run the default os which is Win XP Home with SP2. I even reformatted
the whole entire drive and am still coming up with this error later on.

Thanks

Vernon VonHinkelschmidt

Re: Error message display driver igfx stopped responding

Sounds like the graphics chip is overheating or drawing too much power due
to the game activity.

That might be the case even though I bought a fancy laptop cooling pad
from Belkin and am using that 24/7. This problem is just recent (as in
within the past 3 weeks)

Then try using your vacuum cleaner to suck out any dust that may have been
sucked into the laptop fans.

Re: Error message display driver igfx stopped responding

I got my lap top about a month ago and for about 2 weeks now I have been
recievig this message and I dont play any games on my lap top. It doesnt
matter what im doing it goes balck for like 3 to 5 seconds and then the
essage pops up. I am wondering if I should take it back to the store and
get them to fix it. Or is there a simple way for me to fix it ( I dont
know much about computers). Thanks and have a great day.

Re: Error message display driver igfx stopped responding

im having the same problem, wondering if maybe i damaged my graphics
card from overheating. Before I came to school I have been playing
NADEO TrackManiaNationsForever on 100% cpu, with integrated graphics.
It was like on fire but never had an error. Then before I came to
school this semester I found my favorite game and CD key finally (its
been almost 2 years! star wars battlefront 2). So I unscrew the two
easiest compartments and clean out the fan and surrounding areas. The
laptop isn't feeling hot anymore, but maybe internally the temperatures
are very high?

I don't know if that makes sense. Anyway I have been playing for up to
three hours at a time for the first time ever for this laptop but its
not heating up like it used to (like my palms used to get hot and its
not like that anymore).

I have the same error you all do. Not sure what to do!
