| | Nvidia GeForce 6200 Hi all, I'm using the Nvidia GeForce 6200 graphics card with 128 MB RAM, but for some reason Vista beta 2 (5384) only see/shows this as having 32 MB RAM, and because of this I can't use Aero! How do I get Vista to find the "missing" RAM and showing 128 MB?? Any help please? P.S. I do have the latest driver! |

Unfortunately, what it means is that some of your 128MB comes from system memory and there really is only 32MB on the card. Not positive this is your problem, but sounds likely. You can read more about this scam (called hypermemory in the ATI world) at http://www.nvidia.com/page/geforce6200_pci Tom |

| | Re: Nvidia GeForce 6200 Odd, I use the same type of card with the latest driver and it works fine with Aero, for the most part. The only glitch I get is what appears to be a common one with every Geforce card and Vista, and that is the screen capture bug that occurs when the desktop compositing is enabled. | | Re: Nvidia GeForce 6200 But I agree with Tom above. You probably don't have one that really has 128 MB, so mine probably isn't exactly like yours, since I avoided the TurboCache versions like the plague. Your card only has 32MB and, like AGP cards, uses system RAM for the rest. -- Conor Grumpy Old Man Same ****, Different Day. |

Neither my ATI 9800 Pro nor my nVidia 6600 do. |
