| | igfx drive stopped responding I hope I'm posting in the right place, but I'm going crazy trying to find out how to fix my stupid computer. Like so many, I've had nothing but trouble with this Vista. I would never have bought it, but it was all they were selling. Anyway, here is what is going on: I have an HP PC Media Center m7760n running Vista Home Premium (32 bits). I purchased this Media center because I'm a big photo/video buff, and I figured this would be the best PC for me (yeah right!) Anyway, I cannot use Windows Movie maker for my videos.. It crashes because of some random program I don't even have on my computer. So, I purchased Roxio's Easy Media Creator Suite 9 (Vista Compatible -- yeah right) After fixing a few issues with that, I thought I was all set. Now, whenever I try editing videos, my computer screen goes black and my PC beeps. It will come back for a second, disappear, and beep some more. I get an error message that says my igfx drive has stopped working, and yada yada. I've researched the issue. Apparently this happens a lot to people who play to war of the warcraft. Supposedly, all I need is to update my igfx drive, and I'll be all set? So I track down the update for my Intel 82945G express Chipset Family Card-majiig (http://support.intel.com/support/gra.../CS-023621.htm) and it tells me it's not validated for my computer. I have no idea what else to do. Microsoft's Amazing problem resolver has no solutions, and I can't find anything like this online (minus the War of the Warcraft thing). While Searching through my Problem solver program, I found this--(below) Not sure what it means, but googling it brought me here, so I figured I'd try it out. | | RE: igfx drive stopped responding tekietek, Did you get mixed up? This is the same post that you made just below. I responded the earlier post, and I'm doing research to discover more about this error. BCCode stands for "Bug Check Code." It's supposedly the same type of error that's called Stop Code. Anyway, I looking at the following site: http://aumha.org/a/stop.htm Take a look so that you know what I'm researching in order to help you get to the bottom of this. Oh, and you don't need to double post. I'm on top of this. You need to relax and have faith. These things can take time. -- freddy "tekietek" wrote: > > I hope I'm posting in the right place, but I'm going crazy trying to > find out how to fix my stupid computer. | | RE: igfx drive stopped responding tekietek, Good morning. I'm still trying to find some specific, rather than general, explanation for your situation. Can I ask you to go back to your original post where we can continue this exchange? My original questions are posted there, and thus it's best to continue at that post. If someone else would like to chime in, he can use this post so that we don't have to talk over each other, thus putting this 2nd post to some use. Anyone care to address this? See you at the other post, -- freddy "tekietek" wrote: > > I hope I'm posting in the right place, but I'm going crazy trying to > find out how to fix my stupid computer.
