| | floppy drive -- Just got a Dell Dimension E520 running Vista. My floppy drive will not work. The system sees it in the bios, sees it during boot, and will let me access it in safe mode. Device manager says everything is fine, but when I try to access it from Vista I get the following error: A:\ is not accessible. The rquest could not be performed because of an I/O device error. I just spent 3 hours with Dell tech support, and they have not been able to find the problem. Does anyone have any suggestions? Robert Howard |

| | Re: floppy drive problem sloved Thanks Koze, I found the ansers but not from uninstalling. I went to A: properties, went to sharing, click on advance sharing, enabled caching, and enabled all files and programs. And it started working. Thanks again. -- Robert Howard "koze" wrote: > A last try, delte it from device manager (Uninstall) reboot and let Windows > install it again. > Did sometimes a very good job. > Ko. > > > "ice256" <ice256@discussions.microsoft.com> schreef in bericht > news:038FE54C-1292-44B7-9D03-510988B4609E@microsoft.com... > > > > -- Just got a Dell Dimension E520 running Vista.
