| | Re: CPU showing wrong speed on vista Make certain that the FSB (front side bus)speed in the bios is correct for your installed hardware. On my board an improper startup can revert the FSB speed to it's default settings. This will make the CPU run a lot slower. My AMD Athlon XP 3200, for instance, will show up as running at 1.2 meg instead of at the correct 2.2 meg. -- Regards, Richard Urban Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User (For email, remove the obvious from my address) "camachoboss" <camachoboss@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:3213E3D5-ADC1-4DC6-841E-A66EED92E6E4@microsoft.com... > Hi here´s the deal i have a Core2 duo 6600 CPU it should work at 2.4 ghz > and > vista is telling me it works 900mhz, because of that i cannot play halo 2 > because of low cpu speed it doens even install. > i have an Abit ADW9 chipset intel 975X > Pls help |
