| | wireless desktop problems My keyboard and mouse are now playing up. They were fine for a couple of days after installing VISTA. I have a Microsoft Wireless Comfort Keyboard and the accompanying optical mouse. Problems include mouse freezing Mouse not going where I am trying to point it Keyboard repeating a letter even if the letter has been lightly touched and by this I mean rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Keyboard not printing a pressed letter Backspace deleting 2 -3 lines of text when only pressed long enough to take out one or two letters. I have been into the settings and altered them to the lowest repeat etc I have also been into the drivers to update them but they report back as up to date And I have pressed the reset buttons so many times it feels like it's after every letter. This is an intermitent problem, in that it might be fine for a while and then jsut decide to go whacky. Time ranging from PC switching on to having been on a couple of hours. Any ideas or similar problems? BTW I have just moved the reciever to see if that helps. I have also been on MS site to look for drivers but it doesn't give a UK English language option just a US one |

| | RE: wireless desktop problems celfyddydau, It seems that you have already done all the troubleshooting you can do, but just to make sure, check out this Microsoft troubleshooting guide for keyboards: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/258826 Improper functioning of hardware almost always is caused by something incompatible with the drivers, but it's sometimes hard to be sure. If you can't resolve your issue, try contacting Microsoft directly for help. You can learn how to make the contact by visiting the Microsoft website and looking for contact information. -- freddy "celfyddydau" wrote: > > > My keyboard and mouse are now playing up. | | RE: wireless desktop problems I have the same wireless desktop combo set and am glad/mad that someone else has an issue - at least it's not just me. Have you downloaded the most recent Intellipoint/Intellitype software? Go to microsoft's hardware site to get it: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/wi...a/support.mspx The thing is, for this particular set, you need to get both Intellipoint 6.1 AND Intellitype 6.1 (be sure to uninstall previous versions first). But, don't get your hopes up. My keyboard and mouse still just lose the connection without warning, sometimes locks up vista, and all the time Vista will not shut down - I have to do a forced power down. Luckily, I am on a laptop and the touchpad/keyboard still work when this happens. I think this is a compatibility/driver issue with Vista. The set works fine on my XP system. Hope I will find something that works. "celfyddydau" wrote: > > > My keyboard and mouse are now playing up.
