| | Standard VGA graphics adapter not compatable with Vista I loaded Vist Home Premium fine. Everything is going well except my graphics are poor and the basic game run real slow. I updated drivers but my video card must be too old. Can some one please help as to what would be compatable with Vista and my P4VXMD motherboard. I have 3 PCI slots and 1 AGP 4x slot. I'm really hoping my mother board isn't too old to upgrade the graphics card. |

| | RE: Standard VGA graphics adapter not compatable with Vista sambo54, You're likely to get various opinions on this question. In my opinion, your system is a moderate one, and as such you don't want to install a high end card because you wouldn't get the full benefit from such a move. Therefore, I'd recommend a moderate card for a moderate system, such as like this: http://www.powercolor.com/eng/produc...sp?ModelID=231 This card is listed as an 8X AGP card, but I've used this card at 4X and at 2X with no issues, on WinXP. This card is Vista compatible and will provide adequate results, just what you need for your system. However, your system is not up to playing the "latest and greatest" video games, but this card will do well in many games. Game boxes usually include system requirements for playing the game in the box. Vista compatible drivers can be downloaded from the ATI website. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. -- freddy "sambo54" wrote: > I loaded Vist Home Premium fine. Everything is going well except my graphics > are poor and the basic game run real slow. | | RE: Standard VGA graphics adapter not compatable with Vista Hey thanks so much for your reply. I don't really play games anyhow just the basic card games etc.. I have a 20" acer lcd screen and since loading vista, my font looks awful I have adjusted settings but it's still not great. So I'm hoping it'll help with that too. I really appreciate you advice and will certainly look at getting one! "freddy" wrote: > sambo54, > > You're likely to get various opinions on this question. You can do this for around 200 dollars and have a Vista Home Premium compatible system. Mobo = 50 CPU = 50 Graphx = 100 Total = 200 place to buy parts = newegg.com Captain Roberts |
