CD/DVD Drives Won't Work

I recently upgraded from XPH to Vista Business. Seems my CDROM.SYS or related
file got corrupted because shortly after upgrading ALL my CD & DVD drives
stopped working, giving driver errors. Problem is I can't repair Windows
since there's no DVD drive and when I update drivers or re-install the
hardware I'm told I have the latest drivers.
Any suggestions?

RE: CD/DVD Drives Won't Work

JR,

Follow the instructions on the following Microsoft article:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/929461

Sometimes this solution works, but who knows until you try it. Post back on
the results.
