| | RE: Video card problem Russ, Dell makes the XPS laptop in various configuration levels. Depending on which one you have, it may not be Vista Areo compatible. You can query the Dell website to determine whether your version supports Areo. If it does, then post back for possible troubleshooting tips. -- freddy "Russ Allen" wrote: > I have a Dell XPS laptop and the video setting keep going back to vista basic > theme, I don't know why, I looked at the problem and solutions and there is > nothing and then I looked in the event logs and nothing, I will have the > dreamscene on and and the whole screen will go black (the background), > another friend has the same problem on his laptop. |

| | Re: Video card problem I run 2 pieces of software that does this, except the display driver recovers (you might want to check your video driver). Trillian, which is fixable, and DivX, which has no fix yet. You might be running something that does not support Aero and the video is not recovering. -------------- Camera men on strike, Slides at 11. | | Re: Video card problem Thanks for the help, I had checked several times for an updated driver but there was none, but yesterday there was and it worked fine, I think it was just a crappy driver that was just thrown out for vista. hanks for your help. |
