| | Re: Please help! Installed new motherboard... Vista won't load.. Hi, The repair option just fixes the boot configuration. Ikeyre has changed the hardware that Vista was installed under and will require a fresh installation to rebuild the system files to match. Unlike XP, there is no 'repair installation' to (re)install on top of an existing install. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org My thoughts http://rick-mvp.blogspot.com "freddy" <fkirschen@tidalwave.net> wrote in message news:788C3C9F-AB21-49F2-94FE-7F10591304EF@microsoft.com... > Ikeyre, > > If you want to do a repair install, you have to boot to the Vista DVD, not > the Vista on the hard drive.
